CSPS Hall is open 10 to 6 daily, noon to 4 on Sundays and holidays. Admission to the building and the galleries is always free. Evening performances usually begin at 7 pm Sun through Thurs, 8 pm on Friday and Sat. The box office is open during all daytime hours, and re-opens one hour prior to curtain.
Ticket prices at CSPS generally range from $10 to $30. All shows are general admission and seating is unreserved. Our unique “launch rate” offers a deep discount to those who buy tickets as soon as they go on sale. For most shows, discounts are also available to students, artists, the unemployed, and others on limited income. Ask at the box office.
Carlo is the recently-renovated bar at CSPS, on the second floor, adjacent to the theater. The space takes its name from Carl Van Vechten (1880-1964), who grew up in Cedar Rapids and went on to achieve fame as a critic, novelist and photographer in New York. His close friends knew him as Carlo, which is how he signed his letters. Open before, during and after all performances, Carlo offers wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee and light snacks.
