SANTA CRUZ RIVER BAND
Canceled | Authentic and original, rooted in the styles of Mexico and the Americas, that’s the music of the Santa Cruz River Band.
Based in Tucson, the popular trio is made up of local legends Ted Ramírez, Gilbert Brown and Michael Ronstadt (that would be Linda's brother).
The Ronstadt and Ramírez families have been an integral part of Arizona's history. Both families have made significant contributions to the business, art and cultural development of the region. Ted, Michael, and Gilbert are proud to share their unique American story, generating excitement and creating a strong bond with every audience. A more authentic and historically significant musical group is difficult to imagine, as attested to by their performance history. Recent engagements include the Kennedy Center, the Philadelphia Folk Festival, the prestigious Club Passim, and Center Stage. The band has also been the featured act in hundreds of special events, coffeehouses and house concerts.
Performing in English, Spanish and Native American languages, Santa Cruz River Band is known for presenting a beautiful, intriguing and powerful program filled with history and the mystical lore of the Great American Southwest. Adding in textures and influences of country-western and the blues serves to create a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly different.
