Lauer has been a staple on the Iowa music scene for more than a decade. Now
with the release of her newest studio album, Change, she is at long
last strutting the path that appears to be her destiny: rhythm & blues &
soul.
With two releases already under her belt (Live at Liars and Turn
the Corner), Janelle is poised to take her career to a new level. Change is a breakaway project that focuses on Janelle's writing
ability. The album features a dozen brand new original tunes, many of them
co-written by Gerard Estella.
A native of small-town Iowa, Janelle Lauer studied vocal performance at the
University of Iowa and music business at Belmont University in Nashville,
where she also began her songwriting career.
She returned to Iowa in 1994 and has since appeared on stage, television,
radio and theatre, including sharing the stage with many regional and
national performers. Janelle was a regular performer with the infamous
Liar's Holographic Radio Theatre for five years, and is a founding member of
SPT Theatre Company. But her true love is doing what she does best: moving
an audience to laughter, to tears and to their feet.
