Breaking News The Grammy goes to Buckwheat In Los Angeles Sunday, Buckwheat Zydeco was
announced as winner in the Cajun-Zydeco category of the 52nd annual Grammy
Awards. The award in that category, like a number of others, are handed out
on Sunday afternoon ahead of the evening Grammy broadcast. Buckwheat won for
his new album Lay Your Burden Down, beating out Beausoleil avec
Michael Doucet, The Magnolia Sisters, The Pine Leaf Boys and Cedric Watson
et Bijou Créole. Buckwheat plays CSPS Feb 17.

Coming in MarchArts + Social Change Due to a variety of schedule conflicts in Jan, the
Hot House for Arts +
Social Change has been rescheduled for Fri-Sat Mar 5-6.
The Hot House is an intensive two-day seminar devised and led by the Crossroads Project,
a New Orleans outfit dedicated to education and activism through community based arts.
The New Orleans team, made up of three adults and four teens, will be leading the seminar

Starting this fall, advance tickets for all CSPS shows are only available
through
IowaTIX,
an online service based in Des Moines.
While change
can be awkward, this is one change we feel pretty good about. IowaTIX
is small and local, a responsible, public-spirited company that keeps its
service charges low, gives back to the community, and is genuinely
supportive of artists and arts organizations.
This change also means that audience members can purchase tickets at their
convenience, day or night, 24-7. Advance-price tickets
may be purchased up to 5 pm the day of the show. And we'll
continue to monitor and tweak this arrangement so that it works for you— the audience on whom
we and our artists depend. Let us know

Student rush
As long as seats are available, full-time
students 21 and under can see any show at CSPS for only $5. Just show up at
