"Exploring the common threads of life is what drives my work. I like to see what is essential to the human experience across cultures, societies, and time. How we perceive the world around us, the paradigms we create, shape our experience. I’ve taken a special interest in the commonalities and their effects on our interactions. By expressing some of these shared elements in as minimally as possible, I hope that people can reflect and relate."
Terrell Smith is a painter and printmaker based in Iowa. Originally from the east coast, Smith developed a passion for arts and design through exposure to unique architecture in the various places he’s called home. Over time he developed skills in painting, drawing, printmaking, and digital arts. Eventually his desire for growth and development led him to pursue an MFA at the University of Iowa, where he is currently finishing his final semester.
