"I believe that all art is simply the expression of emotion. By using painting, collage and sculpture I examine my relationship with my mother, and the reflective nature of this relationship. How does who she is, and who I am relate? If the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, what does this say about the things I love most about her, and the things I hate? Especially If I define these things about her, but also find them in myself. These questions are the root of deeply personal pain. A certain kinda of darkness. That is the relatable experience. While I am inspired by my personal experiences, the expression and experience of emotion by the viewers."
