Five-time winners at the New England Music Awards, here’s a band whose reputation has been built on “sweaty, passionate and enduring” live performances that have earned them comparisons to Springsteen and U2. Jack Casey of Boston radio station WERS has proclaimed, “After two hours of non-stop playing, Adam Ezra’s given everything he has to the audience. Rarely have I seen a lead singer with his talent and charisma.” But not content to be “just a band,” members of the Adam Ezra Group sees themselves as activists and community leaders, out to change the world. Ezra’s bio includes time living out of a van, farming in Canada, volunteering for the relief effort in Kosovo, and practicing environmental geography in South Africa. Whether a kitchen hand or carpenter, teacher or traveler, Ezra crams it all into the music. The result is music that’s joyous, driving and infectious. Said the jurors at the ACE Music Conference, "If Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews, James Taylor and Jack Johnson had a baby, this band would be it.” The band has toured with everyone from Avett Brothers to Jason Mraz, Dwight Yoakam to Los Lobos. Through a variety of nonprofit endeavors, the group also supports causes in communities across the country and worldwide.
