The Sea The Sea is an Upstate New York-based indie folk-pop duo featuring what Huffington Post calls, “Two of the loveliest male-female voices you might ever hear this or any other year.” The group has received praise from NPR, American Songwriter, and No Depression, among others, earning features across all major music platforms including Apple Music’s Best of the Week, The A-List Singer/Songwriter, and over 15 million streams on Spotify. The animated video for their song “Waiting” sparked viral interest at Buzzfeed, Pitchfork, and an international TED conference in 2015. Mountain Stage host Larry Groce calls The Sea The Sea “ready to take their place among the best young male/female duos now performing.”

An indie folk duo known for their vocal energy, catchy melodies and charming stage presence, Freddy & Francine started out in Los Angeles before relocating to Nashville. Over the years, as their act was coming together, he drove trucks and played Carl Perkins in the national touring company of Million Dollar Quartet. She worked in an office, and co-wrote a television pilot starring Seth Rogen. Finally they found their footing as a duo whose original songs sit comfortably between folk, pop and Americana “Freddy & Francine [real names Lee Ferris and Bianca Caruso] have a musical connection that radiates from the stage and draws the listeners in,” wrote the reviewer for Music Connection. “The duo captivates the room with a simple setup of two microphones, a guitar and four stomping feet. With witty banter, Caruso charms her way through the evening, while Ferris comes along for the ride, and the audience swoons.”
