Indie-rock band The Roosevelts originally came together in Austin, then moved to Nashville in 2015. Following the release of their debut album in 2016, they found their schedule packed with a run of tour dates accompanying acts like Johnnyswim, Robert Earl Keen, Green River Ordinance and Grace Potter. The band enjoyed a featured spot at the BMI Songwriters Festival in Key West, and slots at tastemaker festivals South by Southwest and Austin City Limits. They kicked off 2017 with a 50 date headlining tour across the US, as fans and critics alike fell for the band’s rousing, dance-worthy songs, as well as poignant tunes that scaled the depth of the group’s personality, communicating their story with remarkable power. Between their charismatic ability to connect with fans, and their genre-spanning set list, concert-goers couldn’t help but smile and dance.
The fall of 2017 brought change to the group, as the band’s lead singer left to pursue other passions. The addition of Mitchell Kilpatrick as singer is nudging the band in a more contemporary direction: half pop, half alternative. Yet throughout the Roosevelts remain a band that adventurous music fans can’t afford to miss. Their latest single, “Do You Want Me?,” was released May 11. Have a listen.
