He has performed at many venues in the US and India, and is a co-founder of Carnatic for a Cause, a Cedar Rapids-based project that organizes concerts, featuring young musicians, to raise awareness and support for community needs. Sharing the stage with Akash is percussionist Nanjundamurthy Venkatasubbu of Dubuque.
